- 1 ½ cups kataifi (shredded phyllo dough)
- 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter or coconut oil

- 1 cup pistachio cream
- 2 tbsp tahini
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (or adjust to taste)
- For the Chocolate Coating:
- 12 oz dark, milk, or white chocolate (high-quality, chopped)
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for shine)
- For Garnish (Optional):
- Crushed pistachios
- Filaments of toasted kataifi
Instructions
- Prepare the Kunafa:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread the kataifi on a baking sheet and drizzle with melted butter.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, stirring halfway, until golden and crispy. Let cool.
- Make the Pistachio Filling:
- Combine pistachio cream, tahini, and powdered sugar in a bowl. Mix until smooth and refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to firm up.
- Melt and Temper Chocolate:
- Melt two-thirds of the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining chocolate until smooth. Add coconut oil if desired.
- Assemble the Bars:
- Spread a thin layer of chocolate at the base of your mold. Let it partially set.
- Add a layer of toasted kataifi, followed by a generous layer of pistachio filling.
- Cover with the remaining melted chocolate and smooth the top.
- Chill and Serve:
- Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes until firm.
- Remove from molds, garnish with crushed pistachios or toasted kataifi, and enjoy!
