These homemade pecan tarts are the perfect bite-sized treat, featuring a buttery, flaky crust and a rich, caramelized pecan filling. Perfect for holidays, special occasions, or just a sweet indulgence, these mini pecan tarts are easy to make and completely irresistible!
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 6 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
For the Filling:
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms. Chill the dough for 15-30 minutes for easier handling.
- Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini tart pan or muffin tin.
- Shape the Crusts: Divide the chilled dough into small balls (about 1-inch each) and press them into the prepared tart pan, forming mini tart shells.
- Prepare the Filling: In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Assemble the Tarts: Spoon the filling into each tart shell, filling ¾ of the way to prevent overflow.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Cool & Serve: Let the tarts cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
Notes
- Make-Ahead Option: You can prepare the dough a day in advance and refrigerate it overnight.
- Storage: Store at room temperature for 3 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for 3 months.
- Variations: Try adding chocolate chips, bourbon, or maple syrup for a fun twist.
